How to Stump A Slump

22 05 2015

We have all felt the power of excitement, the dream that propels us out of bed in the morning eager to face the life_logochallenge the new day will bring us. These days, weeks, months, and even years bring such vitality that one can hardly relate to the person who does not have that passion inside them.  But what happens if and when that excitement wains or even dies inside?

Life Leadership Essentials Series has recently released the book, Ladder: Climbing Out Of A Slump  to help people get back on the path of goals and a vision that they know they want to be on, but can’t figure out how.  In what I feel is a must read for anyone who has ever felt as if they have hit a plateau, or the mid-life crises, this book walks you through the 6 rungs of the ladder to climbing out of a slump.

Success is never promised to be easy, only worth it. Life is too short to spend not pursuing the dreams that God has placed in out lives.  When it’s too late, we will look back and wonder what we waited for.  If you are reading this blog post, you are one of the 5%ers in this world who need to be pursuing your passions so others have model to follow. Climb out of your slump and get moving. It’s Time!

Walk A Mile In Someone Else’s Shoes

27 05 2013

One phase that I have tried to eliminate from my vocabulary is, “I know exactly how you feel.” We may have gone through simliar experiences but as we are all created uniquely thus, we all deal with lives events in our own way.

A quality of leadership is understanding people. One of the best ways I have discovered to understanding people is to be on a continuous course of self-improvement. We will never know exactly how how people feel, but striving to always better ourselves, especially in the area of relationships, we can understand with more empathy, the people in our lives.

For the past several years I have been on a self-directed leadership education with LIFE. The information has helped me be a better teacher, coach, and now a business owner. People can say what they want about leadership development but they can not argue with the results it has for people who have worked to implement the principles into their lives.

I always try to walk a mile in other people’s shoes before I make a judgement on anything. This help me understand before making any kind of decision in the several areas of leadership I am in. Well…..I always felt I wanted to know how my wife felt bringing our three great children into this world. After watching this video, I’m pretty sure I never want to find out.

Sometimes We Need A Good Laugh!

13 05 2013

Yesterday I found this video on Tim Marks leadership blog and I was laughing so hard that a tear came to my eye! It reminded me how important it is to take time to get around people that are fun and make you laugh.

This past weekend we had a Life Leadership seminar in Whitewater Wisconsin. Not only did everyone in attendance learn principles to live the life they have always wanted. We also laughed! We had Fun! It is refreshing to find a community of people who do not focus on the negative, complaining about everything. This group of people in Life do not focus on the negative things they can not control. They are excited because they focus on the only thing they can control…..their future!

Enjoy the video, Steve.

Have FUN: Jeff Gordon “Test Drive” video

Hey guys!  A great blessing in life is to find the humor in each day. One of the 8 F’s in theLIFE business is “FUN”, and after a good friend of mine shared this video with me I thought it might put a smile on your face as well.  Put on your seat belts and watch Jeff Gordon pull a prank on an unsuspecting car salesman.  Enjoy!

God bless, Tim

What Motivates You?

4 02 2013

Inspiring movie clips, speeches, quotes, I can’t get enough of them to help with personal motivation! There is nothing like thinking through your goals and what the future will bring while watching someone who has already achieved greatness tell you you can do it.

Over the years I have seen many great inspirational clips. For this blog I have decided to pit two of them against each other for you, the readers of this blog to decide with your vote which is better. Watch the videos and then in the comment section place your vote for your choice. Voting will end one week from today and you can only vote once per day. Tell your friends to vote because it will be public record as to who you voted for and it will be forever bragging rights if you voted for the winner 🙂

LIFE Building And Bonding

11 12 2012

IMG_0291For the second year Jamie and I were able to spend some time in Florida with LIFE Founders Orrin and Laurie Woodward and Dan and Lisa Hawkins. To have some fun in the sun with great mentors, friends, and business partners was truly an unforgetible, priceless event.

We spent some time at the Woodward estate eating, playing sports, and cruising on their 76 foot yacht with about 50 people that are living a life on purpose making a difference in this country. With so many great minds  all in one setting my favorite thing to do is listen as every person there shares what their passions are and what purpose they are running to. In a country that so many have “arrived” and stopped working for continuous improvement it is so refreshing to be with a group who is chasing after a dream.

After many of our friends went home, Jamie and I were able to celebrate freedom by renting a house on a waterway with our family creating memories that will last forever. Just being able to have the time to truly relax, catch fish, and go to the ocean without a care in the world truly brings a family together.

Jamie and I have truly been blessed and we look forward to many other leaders in LIFE gaining their freedom to be able to live the life they have always wanted.

Motivation For Pushing Forward

26 07 2012

The difference between going through life and living Life to the fullest is what drives us to our personal best for excellence. Not excellence for the recognition or the money but doing our personal best because it is our purpose that we were put on this Earth to do!

I enjoy this video on motivation because it reminds me to do my best every day pursuing my pasion, my purpose. It makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck every time I watch it as I usually play it right before I am about to go out to speak in front of people about going after their dreams. I hope you can use it a motivational reminder for doing your best everyday in whatever you do!

Team Is Coming To Milwaukee

21 07 2012

There is less than one week to go before the summer leadership convention for Team Life and things are being put in place for never before seen growth. The founders of Life Orrin Woodward, Chris Brady, Tim Marks, George Guzzardo, Claude Hamilton, Bill Lewis, and Dan Hawkins, will be in the house along with special guest speakers Oliver DeMille speaking on freedom and Mark Macdonald talking on fitness.

As we approach the kickoff Friday night I am shaking with excitement as I learn more about what will be laid out. I heard a Life Founder this past week say we are going to help a new person start their own business as cost effective as possible! (Unless you own a smart car, it’s a tank of gas!) With the first of the two conventions taking place as this writing is happening, I want to know what you are most looking forward to coming out of Milwaukee?! I look forward to seeing you all and I am excited for a group of people that are about to make a difference not only in their own lives but the world.

What’s The Scoop?

25 04 2012

Stealing an idea from best selling author and Top 30 Leadership Guru Chris Brady’s material I have decided to have a caption contest of my own. The only difference is that Chris gives out stuff to the winner for his contest and I give out nothing! Maybe an atta boy (girl)  and some props to people who can come up with some creative ideas.

Heres the scoop. Send me a reply as to a what you think is happening in the picture and I will post your response for all of us to get a good laugh. Have fun and enjoy!

Now This Is Fun

29 03 2012

Recently I watched the movie Courageous with some great friends. This is a must see for every person who is a man, knows a man, or who has every seen a man (Yes Everyone!). There are many great lessons taught about family, faith, friendship, fun, in a movie that stretches you and encourages becoming a better man/father.

This film will make you laugh, cry, and search your soul. Several scenes in Courageous show men living their lives to the fullest in the 8F’s. When I watch the attached clip with my family we can’t help but have gut busting laughs as we feed off each other’s giggles and replay the seen through our own eyes. These men know how to have fun. Go grab your family, have some fun and enjoy a laugh. Better yet, go get the movie and watch it with them and some friends.

Enjoy, Steve Leurquin

Keeping The Fun In Life

7 03 2012

I was on Orrin Woodard’s Blog today and found this awesome video. Talk about a guy that is using the gifts he was blessed with and having a good time doing it. One of the challenges in Life is not letting the daily grind take away the child-at-heart spirit that is in all of us. Thanks to this gentleman for being an original Rascal.
