The Life We are Blessed to Live!

29 09 2011

The leadership skills that Orrin Woodward has provided through Team has helped change many lives.  My wife Jamie made a decision to use this growth process to help serve other people and I am proud to share an article on her thoughts of her leadership journey.

We just got back from an incredible weekend at George and Jill Guzzardo’s house in Arizona. A few short years ago, the idea of spending a weekend at a house in which the owners are multi millionaires, was so far fetched. The reality of it happening is truly amazing and to top it off, they are leadership experts who’s hearts are filled with love. The Guzzardo’s play a huge part in not only improving the lives of many individuals but changing our culture.

That brings me to the idea of “how?” How did we, who’s lives were focused on the here and now day to day activities, come to a point in our lives where we can fly off on a weekend trip with some good friends to Arizona and stay in a multi-million dollar home? How does that happen? How does it happen that we can decide what our daily schedules are going to look like, and not have a boss breathing down our necks if we don’t meet a deadline on a project? To know that true happiness is obtained through helping others and living our lives based on our purpose in life, and then given the ability to act on it. It’s remarkable, yet logical if you understand the principles of success.

The information we receive on a day to day basis creates our ultimate destiny. To know this, understand this, and then take action on adjusting the information entering our brains separates one person from the next. Not everyone who is given the proper information to improve their life acts on it. That does not mean the information is ineffective. The intended receiver is.

We are so blessed we were introduced to Orrin and Laurie Woodward and the LIFE TEAM to give us the information we needed to improve our lives. It gave us the ability to live our lives based on our priorities, not our obligations. To know we have many friends who are right there with us, living a life of purpose, and creating a future for our children that would make our forefathers proud.

How is it that our children do not know what swearing is, or think that “shut-up” is a bad word.  To know their sweet little minds will be untarnished for as long as possible is comforting because I have control, and not someone else who possibly does not share my values. I asked myself a few years ago, “what is that worth?” Our results are the answer.

To know what is possible, what is available to each and everyone who puts forth some effort, is disheartening because the amount of people who put in the effort is a far cry from the amount of hidden talents and God given gifts, just waiting to be exposed.

My prayer is that more strong men and women take a stand and fight for their rights and freedoms, and utilize the gifts God has given them. What a shame for it all to go to waste.

Blessings,

Jamie

Jamie, there are so many incredible points you made in this post! I loved this one when you were talking about your children: “To know their sweet little minds will be untarnished for as long as possible is comforting because I have control, and not someone else who possibly does not share my values.” This is worth every bit of the struggle it takes to succeed! The children of today need mommy and daddy to be free for this very reason. It’s wonderful to have examples like you and Steve within the entire Team organization that I can look to and emulate in my own life (when I start having kids) by following the same system you have. I love both your’s and Steve’s blogs! Thank you for your courage to lead!

Thank you for your response Dyke. It is amazing what happens when a few people band together to make a change.
BTW – I am going to see Courageous with a group of leaders this coming Saturday and I am very excited as I have heard only outstanding things about it from so many people.

Jamie, thanks for all your encouragement and your example. You impact the lives of many. I aprreciate where you said:

I have thought this for a long time. I remember in 6th grade speciffically thinking about some friends of mine who had already lost their way and how I valued their abilities and thoughts, and was saddened to watch that fade as they chose negative habits and paths. My prayer then and now is as you stated. What an honor and joy it is to have had this change happen in our lives, and to be able to pay that forward to our children and others.

HOLY SMOKES!!! What an amazing impact this paragraph has to make each of us look at ourselves and question what we are doing with the information we have been so blessed to recieve throughout our life (pun intended) journey. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. I am constantly impressed by your display of knowledge and kind heartedness.

God Bless,

How true is it the thin treads that tie us together in this journey talk about blessings!!! I will never forget the day you came over in your tan coat still prego with Ava and drew out the 3 C’s oh I was so confused!!! But that is what is so great about blessings, somewhere deep down we always feel them around us. Sometimes they are hard and we arnt or so we think ready for them but other times its just what we were hoping and praying for!! The day you and Steve showed me the plan for a future with the TEAM is one of my favorite blessings!!! Thanks always

Jamie, You and Steve are great examples of those strong men and women that you speak of. I’ve seen your character get challenged in a big way, along with the Guzzardo’s, Woodward’s and Hawkins (and many others) and watched all of you come shining through with flying colors. Your mentorship with Erika and I has been instrumental in encouraging and teaching us how to become the man and woman that we’ve been called to be. It’s an inspiration watching you both add value to so many people’s lives who need you. We feel completely humbled and blessed! Thank you! (btw: you’ll have to fill us in on that trip to Tucson with the Guzzardo’s! 😉 God bless ~ Gary & Erika

Gary,
These are all great people that you have mentioned. Any time someone has a chance to get around the leadership of the Guzzardo’s, Woodwards, and Hawkins I would tell them to do whatever they can to get around them.
